Celine van Till
She is an international Para-Dressage athlete who converted to athletics in 2018. She represented Switzerland at international events, notably at the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games.
She started riding when she was 6 years old. Never ceasing to train in order to seek perfection of movement and elegance of gesture, at the age of 15, his efforts were rewarded with a fine fifth place at the Swiss Junior Championships. The same year, the rider and her mount joined the Swiss Junior team, marking the start of their international career.
In 2008, Celine's fate changed forever. The fall ! Head trauma. Celine remains in a coma for a month: she comes out partially quadriplegic, visually impaired and aphasic. How to live with the spell that was cast on him? With unfailing determination and an unparalleled competitive mentality, it is with her horses that she begins her challenge to come back to life.
Today, alongside hard sports training, she also has to maintain her abilities. However, his goal is to progress! Not very visible, she has difficulty with balance and coordination as her body reacts involuntarily and uncontrollably. She has lost half of her visual field and sees double (in 2D)!
Since 2010, the sportswoman is destined for an ambitious career: she evolves in Grade IV of Para-Dressage. She has competed in two European Championships (Deauville 2015 and Göteborg 2017) and two World Equestrian Games (Kentucky 2010 and Caen 2014). At the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games, it was with Amanta that she became a Paralympian!
As running became her challenge upon her return, she became passionate about "movement" and learned to coordinate the movement until she crossed the finish line of the 20km de Genève Aéroport one year later!
